2:30 A.M
Mike awoke to a buzzing sound, turned to shut off his alarm, and realized it wasn't his alarm. The covers were soaking with sweat and everything seemed to be spinning. It was like being stuck on the teacups at disneyland while in the middle of a bad stomach flu. Everything, even his veins were riddling him with painful jolts. Mike struggled to get from his bed to the bathroom and barely made it to the toilet before he was vomiting. Mike gathered a big mixing bowl, some water, and some aspirin and made his way back to bed.
The stomach pains and spinning had stopped by 6:30, so Mike decided he would be okay to go into work today. He poured himself some cereal, and paused after just one bite. He gave the cereal a funny look and checked the date on his milk to make sure it hadn't gone bad. "Something doesn't taste right", thought Mike. Mike finished his cereal anyway and headed out to work. It was sunny this morning, with a few patchy clouds here and there. "The weather is so nice today", Mike said to himself. There was something different about how the sun felt on his skin that morning, but there was something even more peculiar than that.
"What is happening to me? Am I just hearing things?" Mike was very worried that he was going over the deep end, because from the moment he stepped outside, he had been hearing things. Not hearing though, it was as though thoughts were entering his mind, thoughts that weren't his. It was all very unclear, and he couldn't really make sense of it. On the way to work, the thoughts became a bit louder and made his headache much worse, he felt like his brain might burst from the stress. Through the night and that morning, something had been changing within him, and he had no idea what was coming next.
